Can’t Get Downtown? Mobile Chamber Visits Canarsie

By Linda Steinmuller

State Senator Roxanne Persaud teamed up with Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Adam Hoan to bring “Chamber on the Go” to Canarsie. It’s all part of an action plan to revitalize the Rockaway Parkway business corridor.

So busy business owners don’t have to make the trek to Downtown Brooklyn for services to small businesses, the Chamber brought its mobile van to the corner of Rockaway Parkway and Glenwood Road on Monday, where it sat parked outside Capital One Bank for the afternoon, ready to assist store owners with needed services.

Chamber on the Go offers business owners help with financial services, legal assistance, health insurance, marketing and promotion, business courses and much more. They even help with recruitment if a small business is looking for specialized help.

Rockaway Parkway does not currently have a merchants’ association, but the Senator is working with the Brooklyn Chamber, Small Business Services and area merchants to discuss ways to form one (see “Revitalizing Rockaway Parkway,” Canarsie Courier, September 21, 2017).
