Photos by Tiph Browne Photos by Tiph Browne The East 104th Street Block Association held their second annual block party on Saturday, on East 104th Street between Avenue N and Seaview Avenue.

Block Association President Edmundo McKenzie told the Canarsie Courier that the association’s goals are to build awareness of Canarsie, strengthen each other and build a family relationship.

A resident described the event as a “community fun day” where everyone gets involved. “Some cooked food, some brought out food for the grill, and we had a committee that purchased food with the donations.”

Everyone had fun – from kids to seniors. We had adults doing the three-legged race, we had a lime and spoon game. We made our games unisex and we made them to cross the entire spectrum of the ages, so everybody could have a good time.”
