A Game About Nothing!

By Linda Steinmuller

Brooklynites love two things – pizza and the hit show Seinfeld, affectionately known as “the show about nothing.” Brooklyn Cyclones’ fans got to celebrate both last week at Brooklyn Slices Night and Salute to Seinfeld Night at MCU Park in Coney Island. On Friday, August 4th, the Cyclones changed their name to the Brooklyn Slices to settle the score, declaring that Brooklyn has the best pizza anywhere! The first 2,000 fans in attendance received a Slices pizza delivery cap. Although they were defeated 4-2 by the Tri-City Valley Cats, they’re still the Big Cheese in our book! The following night, the first 2,000 lucky Seinfeld fans went home with “No Soup For You” bobblehead dolls and a chance to meet the “Soup Nazi” in person. Phil Morris, the actor who played the famous lawyer, Jackie Chiles, in the hit TV series also made an appearance at Saturday’s game, where the Cyclones suffered a 3-2 loss to the Lowell Spinners. The Brooklyn Cyclones may have lost both games, but anyway you slice it, it was a “nice game, pretty boy!” You may see and purchase more photos from the event by visiting www.canarsiecourier.com.
