Canarsie’s Own Barbados Festival Day

By D. Rybstein

The Friends Of Barbados Democratic Labour Party know how to throw a bash! On Saturday, the organization sponsored a fun-filled day where Barbadians and non-Barbadians alike came out in droves to party with friends and family. The event took place at Monroe Cohen Park at East 108th Street and Seaview Avenue. It was a special day for Barbadians to showcase aspects of Barbados’ lively culture, as well as to relive their childhood experiences. Delicious cuisine was served, and on display were arts and crafts featuring Barbados’ national colors, including participation in traditional activities. You may see and purchase more photos from the event by visiting www.canarsiecourier.com. Just click on the blue button.
