Bloody Front Page Is Insensitive
Greetings Canarsie Courier:
Why is the bloody image necessary to make your front page with MURDERED flashed above? Do you know there are individuals who are traumatized by the incident that your insensitive footage is depicting. We say, shame on the Canarsie Courier – “Not our Neighborhood Newspaper” for this violation on human decency. The incident leaves one person dead in flesh, one person injured while someone else will be subjected to punishment in Slavery “As a punishment for a crime, whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.” The USA’s 13th Amendment is root problem that I feel we need to use as a teaching tool to help prevent these senseless killings among African males in our communities. The greatest crime-fighting tool is to educate on slavery and the facts of being able to be re-enslaved in this 21st Century in the USA. “Slavery as a punishment for a CRIME.”

The Canarsie Courier reports on news that takes place in our coverage area - for better or worse. Our headlines reflect the news - the nice stuff and the gruesome. No newspaper’s headlines will please all its readers all of the time.
On another note, aside from making minor corrections for grammar, letters to the editor are printed just the way we receive them.
