EMT tends to shooting victim. EMT tends to shooting victim. Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly opened fire in the Glenwood Houses Monday morning and injured a 21-year-old man.

Residents said they heard over 20 gunshots at around 10:30 a.m. near East 57th Street and Farragut Road. A short time after, officers from the 63rd Precinct and Housing Police, arrived at the scene to find the victim, whose identity was not released, on the ground with a gunshot wound to his right hip.

Family members and friends gathered around the victim, screaming to get him a towel and arguing that paramedics didn’t make it to the scene fast enough.

Emergency Medical Service (EMS) technicians treated the man at the scene and took him to Kings County Hospital, where he is expected to survive his injuries. The victim did not describe the alleged shooter, only saying he was targeted by an “unknown individual.”

A 24-year-old was shot in the elbow as he was walking in the projects just after 3 a.m. The unidentified victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is also expected to survive his wounds.

Both incidents are under investigation and police would not say if the two shootings are connected.
