Question: What do you think about Walmart pulling out of their plans to put a store in Brooklyn at Gateway II?

“I'm disappointed. Walmart would bring new jobs for the community - I would hope. Definitely improve the economy of Canarsie. I don't see how it would hurt.” –April Best, Canarsie “I'm disappointed. “We don't need WalMart over there. If WalMart is over there, every store gets killed. WalMart is cheap - and they sell everything – food, clothes. But not in Gateway II.” –Garth Taylor, Canarsie “We don't need WalMart over there. If WalMart is over there, every store gets killed. WalMart is cheap - and they sell everything – food, clothes. “Jobs are the number one thing right now. So it's sad that WalMart is pulling out. Canarsiens are losing jobs and I really don't want to have to go to Long Island to shop.” –Josephine Palumbo, Canarsie “Jobs are the number one thing right now. “There are a lot of small stores in Brooklyn. This big store WalMart would crush small businesses in Brooklyn. I don't even know how they got the idea to bring WalMart here in the first place.” -Naser Farag, Canarsie “There are a lot of small stores in Brooklyn.
