Children In Need Receive Gifts At I.S. 211 From “Secret Santa”
It was no secret that Intermediate School 211’s library was filled with hundreds of generously donated gifts for some lucky teens. Needy children received tons of useful holiday presents when students and staff hosted a “Secret Santa” event on Thursday, December 22nd.
Gifts included apparel such as sweaters, gloves, scarves and even winter coats. Principal Carolyn James, teacher Carlyn Toussaint and guidance counselor Catherine Letren helped distribute the goodies.
Tom O’Leary, Founding Executive Director of the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP) was also on hand to take hundreds of donated goods to the Office of School and Youth Development, where more needy children and teens would receive supplies.
