Snowy, Winter Wonderland Comes To Canarsie Library

By Dara Mormile

Performers welcome all to the snow show Performers welcome all to the snow show Last Thursday morning may have been a bit warmer than usual with winter's arrival only a week away, but it was 'snowing' inside the Canarsie Library at 1580 Rockaway Parkway.

Dozens of children gathered at the local branch to watch two talented performers from the organization Urban Stages tell tales of snowfilled days.

The performers Liz Parker and Rachel Sullivan, pretended to build snowmen, told tales of preparing for winter and made “snow” out of various materials. One of the most interesting segments included the recital of a Japanese tale called “Statues,” in which the duo donned masks and costumes.
