Another Homicide Strikes In Our Community
By Charles Rogers

Body was found in this corner house on Avenue K at East 102nd St. Body was found in this corner house on Avenue K at East 102nd St. A 33-year-old Canarsie resident was shot and killed early Tuesday in his home on Avenue K, police said. Although details are sparse, police said the body was discovered when a woman called them at about 1:20 a.m. on August 31st that she had been tied up with duct tape but managed to escape from the residence at 102-24 Avenue K. Police picked her up but did not release her name. She said when she escaped there was “another victim” inside the house.

Police investigated the scene and said they were unable to enter the front door and that when they went to check the rear entrance they could see a man’s body on the floor. They subsequently got into the house and discovered the man had been shot once in the head and once in the arm.

Residents of Canarsie and the connecting neighborhoods have expressed concern regarding the lastest explosion of violent incidents, which have amounted to no less than four within the last month, plus a number of shootings and stabbings.

Officials from the 69th Precinct Detective Squad are currently handling the investigations into a number of cases, including Tuesday’s alleged murder. Anyone with information is asked to call them at (718) 257-6215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. Police affirm that all calls will be kept strictly confidential.
