Depositor Shot At While Standing At Bank’s ATM
Police from the 69th Precinct last Monday were sent running from their headquarters to a branch of the Chase Bank located a block away after they heard a gunshot and saw a man lying on the ground in front of the bank’s outside ATM.
Fortunately, the man on the ground was not hurt, but he dove to that position after being accosted by a man with a gun who shot at him. Full Story

City Report Shows Decline
In Drug Overdose Deaths
Unintentional drug overdose deaths declined sharply in 2008, falling to the lowest level seen in New York City since 1999, the Health Department reported today. The annual number of deaths fell from 874 in 2006 to 666 in 2008, a new report shows, marking a 27 percent decline in the city’s drug-related death rate over two years. Full Story
