What's Your Opinion?

Compiled by Bill O’Neill

Question: Do you think the upcoming trial of five terrorists scheduled to be held in a lower Manhattan court should be relocated out of the city? Briefly explain.

“It’s good and it’s bad to hold the trial in lower Manhattan. It’s bad because it’s too emotional for some people. But by the same token, it’s good because it shows the terrorists this is what you did and this is where it happened.” –Yvelisse Rosa, Manhattan “It’s good and it’s bad to hold the trial in lower Manhattan. “It’s better not to hold the trial here, because New York is already a target for terrorists. The trial would give them another reason to come here.” –Bernita Wynn, Canarsie “It’s better not to hold the trial here, because New York is already a target for terrorists. “The trial should definitely be out of the city. Terrorists train to strike the city. That trial would attract terrorists. I don’t want anything else to happen here.” –Horatio McKoy, Canarsie “The trial should definitely be out of the city. Terrorists train to strike the city. That trial would attract terrorists. I don’t want anything else to happen here.” –Horatio McKoy, Canarsie
“Even though it’s been nine years since the terrorist attack, the hurt is still there. These terrorists have to pay for what they did. So they should hold the trial in lower Manhattan where they did it.” –Rebecca Rosa, New Jersey “Even though it’s been nine years since the terrorist attack, the hurt is still there.
