Charles Rogers As one of the bouncers from the Bikini Lounge & Bar at 8922 Avenue D was walking to work at about 7:30 p.m. last Saturday, a man came up to him, pulled a handgun from his belt and shot him in the arm.

Detectives from the 69th Precinct said the 36-year-old victim, a resident of Herkimer Street, told them he was knocking on the door of the closed club, which is located across the street from the Canarsie Mall construction site and is usually desolate, even at dusk, when he saw the man walk from across the street and shoot him in the left arm. He said the shooter then immediately fled east on Avenue D. The wounded man was taken to Brookdale Hospital by paramedics and was pronounced in stable condition. Officials said that, luckily, the bullet entered the front of the victim's arm and exited the back.

Police canvassed the area and recovered one shell casing.
