CANARSIE COURIER OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED JULY 3RD
      The office of the Canarsie Courier will be closed Friday, July 3, for Independence Day weekend. It will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 6. All advertising and editorial copy should be submitted as early as possible for proper insertion in the July 9 issue.

Pregnant Woman And Unborn Okay After Shooting
      A pregnant woman who was just leaving a house on East 88th Street early Monday morning was shot in the hip by a lone, masked gunman. Two male friends of the woman were also shot and slightly wounded, police said.

Two Hurt In Gunfight Outside Local Nightclub
      The early morning quiet on Sunday, June 21 was shattered by the sounds of a barrage of gunshots as two men were shot just outside a nightclub on Ralph Avenue near East 79th Street, police said. Witnesses said the shooting occurred near the Mystique Nightclub in the 1500 block of Ralph Avenue at about 4:40 a.m. on Sunday when two men began arguing inside the club.

WRECKED IN EAST 80TH STREET CRASH
      This1995 Mercedes is ready to be towed away after accident at East 80th and Paerdegat 1st streets on June 17th. According to police, a 2003 Mercedes was heading north on East 80th Street and stopped at the corner waiting to make a left turn when the 1993 vehicle, heading south, crossed into the north lane and collided with the other vehicle.

Acquittal In 2006 Mill Basin Jet Ski Manslaughter Case
      The youth charged with killing a teenager and fellow jet ski driver in a crash three years ago in Mill Basin was acquitted early this week after a month-long trial. Aristotle Plagianakos, 19, said he was "relieved" after the trial, which charged him with manslaughter in the death of Paul Zaccaria, 20, on June 30, 2006.
