CHS Students Earn Top Honors In U.N. Competition
      A team of six Canarsie High School students recently won a United Nations-sponsored competition over 23 other entrants. "One Planet Many People," a UN research project, was created to provide students with opportunities to highlight realistic and complex social science global issues by use of multimedia.

Annual Bridges Festival's A Big Hit With Canarsiens
      Hundreds of Canarsie residents came out Sunday to enjoy the 13th annual Canarsie Bridges Festival. The event, described by the Jewish Community Council of Canarsie's Rabbi Avrohom Hecht, was "to bring people together, to show unity, and that people from all walks of life come together for one purpose: to show they care about the community and care about each other.
