The election of President Barack Obama has spurred the students of PS/IS 66 to showcase their artistic talents. Students engaged in a very special artistic endeavor called, "Painting the Portrait of a President." First graders painted individual portraits of the new president, while seventh graders created a group portrait. More ... There is a rising insect epidemic in New York City. And for many it is a throw back to over 50 years ago when this pest was fought with the now-banned insecticide DDT. Now the hated bedbug is one the move again and causing great consternation in New York City. More ... An innovative "museum" recently opened in a most unlikely location — the hallways of District 18's Public School 244, at 5400 Tilden Avenue, where the work of students was showcased in a variety of theme-related exhibits.
