69th Precinct Honors Its Best
Photos by Sonny Maxon

With Chief Fox (left) and Captain Monteforte flanking them, members of the Community Council received their honors.
It was a natural progression that the weather cooperated last Thursday as the 69th Precinct held its annual Me-dal and Family Appreciation Day.

To make the day even more pleasant, the surroundings were changed from a crowded area to the spacious campus and grounds of Kingsborough Community College in Manhattan Beach.

With the commanding officer of Patrol Bureau Brooklyn South, Assis-tant Chief Joseph Fox as a special guest and co-host, Precinct Commander Captain Ralph Monteforte proudly pre-sented specific medals and awards to rank and file officers, as well as members of the local Police Auxiliary, civil-ian precinct workers and crossing guards.

It was a time for a lot of applause, and a time to see the pride in the eyes of family members as each accepted his and her honors. Charles Rogers

Cops of the Year are P.O. David Barker and P.O. Deborah Thompson.
Capt. Monteforte, with his family (and extended police family) shows his award.
Anne Isolano received "School Crossing Guard of the Year" award.
Chief Fox and Captain Monteforte presented award to Chaplain Msgr. David Cassato.
...And there they are! The proud members of the best precinct in the NYPD!
