Two Shooting Suspects Nabbed After Chase On Belt Pkwy.
The victim told detectives he was sitting in his car in front of a house on East 86th Street near Seaview Avenue when a black, late model Dodge Neon with a woman driver and two male passengers pulled up behind him. One of the men got out and started firing at him, striking his car twice. The shooter then jumped back into the Dodge and the car fled south on East 86th Street. The victim, whose name was not released, was not injured. He called 911 on his cell phone then followed the car to the Belt Parkway. Local police were alerted and followed the Dodge to Knapp Street, where the driver exited onto Shore Parkway and Ford Street. One of the men fled when the car stopped, but cops arrested the woman and the other passenger. With assistance from the NYPD K-9 Unit, a handgun was found near where the chase ended. A Kings County District Attorney office spokesperson told the Courier yesterday that Keith Murphy, 24, of Marion Street, Brooklyn, and Candice Estrada, 24, of The Bronx, were both arrested and charged with attempted assault, reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal mischief, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.
