Sampson Urges Public To Take Advantage Of Water Bill "Deals" The City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has proposed the Payment Incentive Plan aimed at assisting individuals with overdue bills. Although, homeowners have until February 21 (today) to sign up for an affordable payment plan, Senator John Sampson urges constituents to call the DEP at 1-718-595-7000 for other payment arrangements that they may have available. The Payment Incentive Plan aims to assist individuals who have a balance of $1,000 for over one year, so that they can continue to have running water, and in addition, late fees will be dropped for those eligible and who pay their past due balances. Sampson announced this week that, "for anyone experiencing problems with their water bills, it is crucial to find a way to deal with it on the individual's terms, instead of having the city intercede. However, here is one opportunity to be proactive and I urge those in this circumstance to take advantage of this opportunity." Please feel free to contact Senator Sampson's office if further information is needed and to get more information of incentives aimed at assisting affected homeowners at 1-718-649-7653.
