Cops Search For Suspect In Breukelen Shooting Police from the 69th Precinct are looking for a lone gunman who pumped four bullets a Breukelen Houses resident standing in the courtyard of his building last Friday. The gunman quickly walked away, leaving the victim for dead. According to officials of the local detective squad, the shooting occurred at about 8:30 p.m. at 274 Stanley Street, in a yard of the eastern section of the housing complex. "He was shot twice in the abdomen and twice in the legs," said one detective, who noted the victim, Robert Lovitt, 41, was taken to Brookdale Hospital by Emergency Medical Service paramedics. Emergency room doctors told police Lovitt was not expected to die, but that he would be undergo extensive surgery. They said they are currently investigating "a number of leads" in the case, but said it was "probably" not gang related.
