Letters to the Editor Dear Editor, I enjoy walking around the community and seeing many Canarsiens taking care of their property. But on some streets, the lack of consideration for pedestrians by car owners who block sidewalks is more evident than our community's beauty. I've walked down several side streets and there is often NO room for pedestrians to walk when cars in the private driveway extend onto the sidewalk. I know parking can often be a problem, but when residents have visitors whose cars block the sidewalk, pedestrians are forced to detour into the street and avoid oncoming traffic! This is disrespectful, dangerous and thoughtless, whether you are a visitor or the homeowner and it is disgraceful. The sidewalk should be accessible to passersby at all times. Those who carelessly block sidewalks need to know that they could be posing a safety hazard. We shouldn't have to walk in the streets. Please be more considerate. Thank you. Dara Mormile
