What's Your Opinion?
Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: City officials recently said they would like to sell naming rights to popular Parks Department attractions, like zoos, to major corporations that would add millions to the treasury. Do you think this would be a good idea or not? Why?

"No, because it would take away from the history. It would take away from the boroughs. It takes away from a family's personal connection with a particular place." - Clevy Carr, Canarsie
"I don't think they should do that. First of all, companies should not make money with the naming rights to a public zoo or public property. I don't think a company should get monetary gain from something that belongs to the public." - Donald Robinson, Canarsie
"I think it'll be great. If it helps bring in money without raising taxes, it'll be good." - Nelson Bonaparte, Canarsie
"I think it's a good idea on a small level - like parts of a park but not the whole park. That's because parks have historic value that should be kept." - Brent Colyer, Williamsburg
