      Editor's note: A copy of the following letter was received by the Canarsie Courier. Dear Commissioner Sadik-Khan: Last May, I wrote to you about the condition of many of the roads in the Canarsie area of my district. I am very happy to see that many areas within Community Board 18 have been resurfaced, and I am grateful for your response.

      Question: An MTA rescue plan presented last week includes tolls on the free East River and Harlem River bridges that would minimize service reductions and keep a fare hike as low as possible. Do you think it's fair that drivers, who already pay certain fees to own a car in New York, should help subsidize bus and subway riders? Why or why not?
