What's Your Opinion?

Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: With millions of jobs at stake if the nation's big three auto manufacturers aren't saved, do you think the federal government should bail them out or let them go out of business? Why or why not?

"I think they should bail them out because of the jobs. Those people need to work. And we need to have American made cars. We need the auto industry."

We need the auto industry." - Kia Thompson, Crown Heights"It's a little different from the Wall Street bail out, which is for the elite and corporate executives. The bail out of the auto industry is more for the common people. Yes, they should bail them out."

Yes, they should bail them out." - Marc McKenniss, Canarsie"The federal government shouldn't do that, because then any company that is going out of business will go to the government for a bail out."
- Abdul Salm, Canarsie"The federal government shouldn't do that, because then any company that is going out of business will go to the government for a bail out." - Abdul Salm, Canarsie"It not only saves a lot of jobs, but the bail out might be better for the public in general. A collapse of the auto industry would be devistating for the whole nation."
- Raoul Rivas, Canarsie"It not only saves a lot of jobs, but the bail out might be better for the public in general. A collapse of the auto industry would be devistating for the whole nation." - Raoul Rivas, Canarsie
