Held, as always, on East 92 Street, between Flatlands Avenue and Avenue J, just a few steps from the legislator's community office, the event drew scores of residents who picked up vital information, including pamphlets and brochures, from various private and government organizations.

While some enjoyed barbecued hotdogs and hamburgers provided by volunteers, others took advantage of free health check ups and obtained facts about senior services.

Among the agencies that participated were the Abe Stark Senior Center, New York City Department of Aging, Millennium Development Corporation, Brookdale Hospital, Neighborhood Health Providers, the Metropolitan Jewish Health System and Visiting Nurse Services of New York.

According to Sampson's spokesperson, over 100 people attended the event.
