Free Summer Music Concerts In Brooklyn

Free Monday concerts enter their 26th summer at another exciting edition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Concert Series at Wingate Field.

This year, the star-studded lineup continues through August 25.

•July 21 - Mystery Night with a musical legend to be announced.

•July 28 - Gospel Night with Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett and Greater Annointing, plus Ricky Dillard and New Generation.

•August 4 - An evening with Erykah Badu

•August 11 - Jill Scott and Estelle.

•August 18 - Caribbean Night with Beres Hammond, Calypso King The Mighty Sparrow and Bunji Garlin & Asylum.

•August 25 - An Evening with Patti LaBelle.

Wingate Field is located on Winthrop Street, between Brooklyn and Kingston Avenues, opposite Kings County Hospital. The public is encouraged to bring chairs because seating is limited. Possible rain dates are Tuesday evenings.


The annual Seaside Summer Concert Series, at Asser Levy Seaside Park continues each Thursday at 7:30 p.m. through August 21.

•July 17 - An Evening with Brian Wilson.

•July 24 - Smokey Robinson plus Russell Thompkins, Jr. & The New Stylistics.

•July 31 - Classic Rock Night with a Mystery Guest to be named. plus Starship featuring Mickey Thomas.

•August 7 - Back by Popular Demand: An Evening with Liza Minnelli.

•August 14 - Salsa by the Sea with performers to be announced.

•August 21 - Huey Lewis & The News with very special guest Paul Thorn.

This series in Marine Park at Fillmore Avenue is presented by New York State Senator Marty Golden.

•July 23 - Eclypse (Classic Disco and Top 40 Dance)

•July 25 - The Mankind Band (Classic Rock & Oldies) at Avenue U & Van Sicklen.

•July 30 - Kenny Vance & Planatones

•August 6 - Carl Thomas (Songs of Darin, Sinatra, Martin) and Elvis Impersonator

•August 13 - Carribean Splash (Summer Dance Party Band)

•August 20 - Family Day (DJ/Face Paint/Rides/Games/Prizes)

Concerts begin at 7pm. Family days are 5-8 p.m. In case of poor weather, cancellations will be posted on the Concert Hotline by 5 p.m. at 718-236-7547.
