Carolers Serenade E. 92nd St. Merchants & Us!

The only things missing when youngsters from the Great Commission Christian School of St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church came to the Canarsie Courier office to sing Christmas carols Friday afternoon were, perhaps, lighted candles and stovepipe hats to give the event that special "Charles Dickens" effect.

Aside from that, we grateful listeners conjured thoughts of snow and a Christmas tree and even a turkey on the holiday table.

Thanks to the good graces of Headmaster Pastor Christoph Schulze and Principal Rhonda Schulters, the students, along with a few adults and accompanist Pastor Ken Friedman of Canarsie Full Gospel Chapel, we - and others who enjoyed the carolers - also shared tales of the Christmas story and a parable from the Scriptures.

When the youths finished their happy task, they all wished us a merry Christmas.

Pastor Christoph Schulze is happy with his carolers.
And as they filed out the door, one child was heard to say, "And God bless us, every one!"

You're never too young to wish your neighbor a happy holiday!
Carolers sing of the joy of the season.
