A ship christened at Kingsborough Community College (KCC) last Friday will serve as a "floating classroom" for the two-year school's Maritime Tech-nical program.

As sons Eric and John Drucker proudly watched, the vessel was traditionally christened by KCC president Dr. Regina S. Peruggi, who broke a bottle of champagne across the bow before it was launched into the water. The ship is named for former Dean Milton "Mike" Drucker, the founder of the college's unique maritime program.

A former mentor of Drucker's from his days as a City University administrator, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall attended the ceremony as a proclamation was presented by her Brooklyn counterpart, Marty Marko-witz.
