Kingsborough Launches 20th Season Of The Children's Theatre Festival

Kingsborough Community College recently announced its 20th season of affordable family events at the 700-seat Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center. This season's shows include: Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Saturday, October 13 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.), a musical based on Washington Irving's spooky happenings, just in time for Halloween; Max and Ruby (Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m.), a delightful musical inspired by author Rosemary Well's charming bunny siblings; and A Winter Fairy Tale (Saturday, December 8 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, December 9 at 2 p.m.), an introduction to ballet and The Nutcracker created especially for kids by the Brighton Ballet Theater, and others in 2008.

Tickets for each performance are $10; discounts are available when purchasing tickets to 3 or more shows. The performances take place on the KCC campus, 2001 Oriental Boulevard in Manhattan Beach. Parking is free. To get to the campus via mass transit, take the B1 or B49 bus to the last stop; the Q train (Brighton Beach stop) and F train (Avenue X stop) both meet up with the B1 bus. Teachers are invited to request a calendar of performances available during the school year.
