Teen Arrested In Shooting Report Hoax

Emergency Service Unit police last Friday joined with 69th Precinct officers and detectives as they converged on East 91st Street, between Avenue J and Flatlands Avenue, responding to a report that there had been a shooting. After extensively canvassing the area and questioning home owners, it was discovered that a 14-year-old boy was the individual who called 911. Sharp-eyed detectives picked up the suspect, who had been hovering near the scene, and allegedly confessed to making the call. He was arrested, taken to the Foster Avenue station house and charged with making a false report.
