What's Your Opinion?
Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: Some manufacturers are coming out with school backpacks they say are bulletproof that cost upwards of $150. Would you buy one?

"Yes, I would, because kids in society today - with adolescents carrying guns - you could never be too cautious. I'd rather be safe than sorry for the sake of my children." Oleisha Stennett, Canarsie
"Are they serious? I wouldn't buy it. If I had to buy my child a bulletproof backpack, he wouldn't be going to that school. Definitely- No bulletproof backpack for my son." Eric Hernandez, Williamsburg
"Yeah. I would buy one for my daughter. This way, she has protection not only in school but in the neighborhood, if trouble arises." Jonathan Santiago, Canarsie
"For $150 you'd be better off if you bought your child a gun instead of a bulletproof backpack. Absolutely no! If you're going to get shot, you're going to get shot, regardless. I would spend some money for added protection, but not a bulletproof backpack." Rafael Garcia, Bushwick
