What's Your Opinion?

question: Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Spitzer plan to shift this year's 9/11 anniversary ceremony to a nearby park over safety concerns due to ongoing construction at the World Trade Center site. However, families and friends of the victims are fighting to keep it there one last time. Do you think the ceremony should relocate? Why?

"No. They should have it right where it is. That's where everything happened. So keep it there and memorialize the day. Maybe ten minutes of silence on that day." - Selma President, Canarsie
"Yeah, it's a good idea to relocate - just to be on the safe side. We don't need any more tragedy there!" - Nazrul Bhuiyan, Canarsie
"No, they should have a budget for safety - and keep it there for families and friends who have been going there for the last several years. It holds sentimental value for a lot of families." - Graciela Jinminez, Canarsie
"I can understand why they really want to move it. It's not like just a year later when they still had remains there. Now they want to put up buildings and build a subway station there. I think there is a legitimate safety concern. I side with Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Spitzer. Better to be safe than sorry." - Timmel Koonce, Sheepshead Bay
