Ribbon Cutting At Four Seasons Brings In A New Era

The major ribbon-cutter to start up the electronic era at Four Seasons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was Administrator Caroline Rich.
On July 25, 2007, Four Seasons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in collaboration with 1199 SEIU, e-Health Solutions and SigmaCare, held its ribbon cutting ceremony marking the "official" implementation of the electronic medical record also known as the EMR.

The software, SigmaCare, will allow for the nursing home staff to have access to a resident's medical chart with the click of a mouse.

Four Seasons, a recipient of a grant sponsored by New York State's Department of Health, the Greater New York Education and Worker Participation Fund is the first nursing home out of 22 other selected nursing homes to implement the EMR.

Caroline Rich, LNHA, stated, "This advancement in technology at Four Seasons promises to revolutionize the delivery of care we provide to our residents and at the same time, enhances the recruitment and retention of high quality direct care staff."

Another goal is to reduce the amount of time spent on paperwork and increase the time that staff will spend with residents. It will also reduce the exorbitant amount of paper Four Seasons currently uses.
