East 86th and East 87th streets were blocked between Flatlands Avenue and Avenue J on Wed-nesday, July 25 while police searched for one of three alleged thieves who tried to rob another man at gunpoint, police said. No one was injured and police from the 69th Precinct caught and arrested two of the suspects, Kacy Livingston, 16, and Kacy Waite, 21. Police did not release the third suspect's name nor the name of the victim.

The victim said he was carrying a shopping bag with some groceries in it while walking on East 87th Street when three men approached him and tried to steal his shopping bag. As he tried to pull the bag away from the trio, one of the men pulled out a .9mm handgun, at which time the victim fled to East 86th Street. The suspect fired three shots, cops said, all of them missing the victim, who was able to get away.

Meanwhile, neighbors heard the gunfire, called 911 and police arrived within minutes, capturing two of the suspects. They were taken to the Foster Ave-nue station house for questioning. Officials at the scene called in "SWAT" team police from the NYPD Emergency Service Unit, armed with automatic weapons and wearing helmets and other protective gear to search a house where the third suspect might have been hiding. He was not found and they are still looking for him. He was only identified as a male black.

Anyone who might have information on the fugitive or anything else connected to the incident is asked to call the 69th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 257-6215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be considered and kept strictly confidential.
