It's not often you have a real king and queen holding court at a senior center, but, sure as there's a scepter in heaven, the folks at Abe Stark Senior Center held their own Senior Prom last week and dutifully crowned a pair of high-steppers. King Ben Marrone, who said he'd be "90 years old in a few days," was crowned "King Of The World!" and 76-year-old Geneva Barr was named his queen on Tuesday, July 17. Hazel Cyrus, recreation director at the center, handled Mistress of Ceremonies duties and happily did the honors for the couple. As music in the background intoned "Pomp and Circumstance," Chef Jeffrey Lavender brought out a huge cake made by him and his assistant cook Diana Mayers for everyone to enjoy.
