Brookdale Health Fair: Fun But Serious

The dance group "The Brookdale Angels" do their own version of cheerleading as part of the entertainment factor.
It's a sure thing that, when the people at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center embark on a project, they're going to do it right.

Such was the case at their Community Health Fair last weekend, where they combined everything from health screening and testing to entertainment, such as rides and games and exhibits.

Some of the screenings included checking the blood pressure of attendees; dental screenings, along with instructions on oral hygiene; and counseling on the options for weight loss.

Of course, the fair wouldn't be a community fair if it didn't have rides and games and plenty to eat, with a clown running back and forth entertaining the kids.

As for entertainment, youngsters took advantage of the indispensable inflatable moonwalk. Then everyone had the pleasure of watching the Brookdale Angels, daughters of the hospital's staff, dance for the crowd with Akeeda Scanterbury singing, accompanied by the Ambassadors steel orchestra, and T. P. Elliston, a Brookdale employee, performing a song from his new video.
