Harvested Pennies Donated

Penny-pinching P.S./I.S. 66 pupils completed their Penny Harvest collection drive earlier this month by donating the $1,000 they amassed to three charities selected by student government leaders: Canarsie AWARE, the Canarsie Adolescent Recreational Program and Feed The Children. Principal Joel Rubenfeld called the altruistic effort "a valuable experience that increased community involvement, promoted charitable work and ainstilled in students a commitment to create a better community."
