Friends United Civic Group Celebrates 11th Anniversary

Those who received awards during the night's festivities were obliged to "get up and take a bow!"

Gardy Brazela, president of the Friends United Block Association (FUBA), graciously accepted accolades on June 3rd as hundreds of Canarsiens joined him at a banquet in celebration of the eleventh anniversary of the civic organization he started.

With City Councilman Lew Fidler hosting the dinner-dance, which was held at the Glen Terrace, the association was praised for its sponsorship of the youth organization, with the banquet also being held as a fundraiser for that group.

Awards were presented to those who supported FUBA through the year and special scholarships were given to members of the youth program.
