Seniors In The Swing Of Things
Just because there's snow on the rooftop, it doesn't mean some older folks can't show off that youthful spark now and then. To prove they can still swing to the classic sounds from their younger days, nearly 200 local seniors attended Tuesday afternoon's 5th Annual Concert in the Park, sponsored by City Councilman Lew Fidler, in conjunction with the Brooklyn Arts Council, and the Millennium Development Corporation. With memorable music from the Big Band Era of the 1940s provided by the Swing Street Orchestra, more than a handful of 65+ citizens strutted their stuff as a portion of Marine Park was transformed into a temporary dance floor.
