Canarsie H.S. Grad Finishes Basic Training Army Reserve Pvt. Solomon L. Long has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Colum-bia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, and armed and unarmed combat. He is the son of Solomon Long of East 101st Street Brooklyn, and grandson of Sarah Naser of Far Rockaway. Long is a 2005 graduate of Canarsie High School.
