Question: There's been a lot of debate in the last year concerning overdevelopment in many Brooklyn neighborhoods. Do you think there should be more, less or no further development in Canarsie? Why?

"I don't think they are overdeveloping. I know that some people are trying to build but didn't get approval. There's a lot of people moving in. There should be more construction." - Vincent Gargano, Canarsie
"I think they should keep the old ways because the neighborhood is overcrowded. There's not enough trees or parks or backyards - places for our kids to play. It makes no sense to build any more." - Sheila Mathews, Canarsie
"I believe there should be less - less of the high risers that they are building. There's less parking because of it. It's not what it used to be. Canarsie used to be a friendly neighborhood. You could leave your door open. Now, you don't even know your next door neighbor. If it changed back, I'd move back to Canarsie." - Connie Robeck, Bergen Beach
"Yeah, there should be more development because we can use it - especially in this neighborhood. Definitely need more housing, parks and recreational facilities. There's nothing going on around here on Rockaway Parkway." - Dan Williams, East New York
