(Clockwise from top left)Career Day professionals at P.S. 276 included Brooklyn Philharmonic musician Kerrick Sasaki; U.S. Postal mail carrier Huey Stanley; NYFDfirefighters Lt. Richard Barnes and Troy Owens; state legislators Senator John Sampson and Assemblyman Nick Perry with Career Day escorts; cable access broadcaster Bernice Brooks and attorney Michael Mondschein.
Every year around this time, several School District 18 schools - elementary and intermediate - hold Career Days to allow students to get valuable insights from professionals in a variety of vocations. Last week, Public schools 268 and 276 held respective events in which volunteers spoke with students and shared their experiences about their individual careers, including firemen, lawyers, clothing designers, a postal carrier, a cable access TV host, a musician and Courier reporter Dara Mormile and associate editor Neil S. Friedman.
