Sean Paul's Top IRAWMA Awards Winner

Dance hall sensation Sean Paul (above) picked up a record six awards during the 26th International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) earlier this month at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. In addition to receiving awards for Best Recording Artist and Best Song, Paul received the prestigious Bob Marley Award as Entertainer of the Year. Other winners included reggae superstar Luciano for Best Male vocalist and Ziggy Marley won the honor as Outstanding Contribution to World Music. Among the 150 nominees, entertainers and industry professionals were co-hosts Doug E. Fresh and Machel Montano, Lady G, Gregory Isaacs, Macka Diamond, Leon & The Peoples, Mutabaruka and Winsome Benjamin. Oprah Winfrey and rock star Bono were given Marcus Garvey Humanitarian awards.
