Lions Prepare Visions Camp For Summer Season
The Canarsie Lions made its annual visit to the non-profit Visions Camp for the Blind (VCB) in Spring Valley, NY, last Saturday to get a head start in preparing the facility for summer camp. The 69th Precinct Explorers, their parents and Youth Officer Valerie Wilson, who is also a Lion, made the trip. Located on 35 acres in Rockland County, VCB has grown to be one of the largest and most comprehensive residential respite, recreation and rehabilitation facilities of its kind in the United States. Each year, it serves nearly 600 people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired and their families.
