How To Ruin A Good Thing

We're fortunate that the city has deigned to beautify our streets with small cherry trees that recently started to blossom. The beginning of the botanic lineup (above) at East 88th Street and Seaview Avenue continues all the way to East 108th Street. It's a very lovely sight, right? BUT HOW ABOUT THE SIGN RESTING ON THE BASE OF THE TREE? The unsightly ad destroys all the good that comes from the gesture. We've blocked out the phone number, which, if you're really curious, you can see for yourself. As a matter of fact, maybe you want to give the guy a call. Charles Rogers
