Oy Vey, Tevye!

The Hebrew Educational Society's 15th Annual Chassidic Festival last week featured a fascinating array of musicians, singers, a capella choruses and other performers. Among the superlative entertainers was Shlomo Haviv, who serenaded the Standing Room Only audience with excerpts from "Fiddler On The Roof." Others delighting the crowd included Yossi Piamenta; Chaim Fishas, saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist; Reality Shock rock group; keyboardist Arye Gandleman, drummer Izzy Keiffer and dancer Darwish, the whirling Dervish.
