What's Your Opinion?
Compiled by Bill O'Neill

Question: There's a campaign, aimed at teenagers who are influenced by the habits of celebrities, to add a warning when actors smoke in PG-13 rated movies. Do you agree or disagree with this proposal? Why?

"I don't think it will do anything. That's the thing. Making a warning won't stop them. Movies are all about image. You have to go after the tobacco companies to stop that." Jonathan Sequerra, Bushwick
"It's a good idea to have a warning. Kids are so easily influenced at that age. So then you won't send your child to that movie, because it's presenting cigarette usage." Rico Silvera, Flatbush
"Yeah, just to inform the parent this is what's going to be seen in the movie. Nowadays a lot of children try to be like celebrities. Be cool. Do what they see on TV and in the movies. So the parents should be informed." Patricia Frager, Canarsie
"I think it's a good idea, because parents need to know exactly what subliminal messages are being sent to their children. Then, parents can make a decision." Nasiya Alim, Canarsie
