Need some solutions to problems with your post office? The U.S. Postal Service has upgraded some of its facilities and technical operations so that the click of an computer will bring "solutions" to a plethora of presumed mail problems.

In a public relations-marketing de-monstration at various branches through-out the Metropolitan area Tuesday, USPS representatives showed the public some of the innovative and time-saving steps that can be taken just by simply taking advantage of new, state-of-the-art operations.

"Many people don't know about a lot of the services available," said Rhonda Schorr, who, along with Cas-sandra Louie, visited the Canarsie Branch at East 102nd Street and Flatlands Avenue just to let us see how easy it is to click into their services.

"For instance," said Schorr, "it's not widely known that we make pickups - free. All you have to do is visit our Web site and schedule the time. At the same time, the customer can have his or her postage rates for the package calculated and decide whether to add insurance," she said.

In addition, through the Web site, customers can order stamps and shipping supplies, find a zip code or a post office location and get mailing and shipping information.

"Of course, you can also trace a package or letter and confirm its delivery by just visiting usps.com," Ms. Louie said. She noted that a "celebration," of sorts was taking place to com-memorate the 60 millionth delivery in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Postmaster Joseph Chios-sone said he is proud the online service helps expand customer access so they can use the Postal Service "without leaving their home or office."
