Senator Gets Seussed With Students

State Senator Carl Kruger reads the Dr. Seuss classic "Horton Hatches the Egg" to children at Public School 312 last Friday as part of the nationwide celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday. For the past ten years, March 2 has been designated "Read Across America National Read-Aloud Day." He read the book to a class of fourth-grade students dressed in cozy pajamas for the occasion. "I'm sure that most of you learned to read by listening to Dr. Seuss stories. Most of your parents learned to read the same way. When you grow up, you'll be reading Dr. Seuss to your own children. Some things never go out of style," he said.
