Commemorating Black History At P.S. 268

The Annual Black History Month Extravaganza at Public School 268 got off without a hitch last week. Many people came and celebrated their heritage and culture. Teachers Cherise Tannis and Cinnimon Green, who were responsible for coordinating the event, said they were very pleased the event was a success and the turn out was great.

The performances by third, fourth and fifth grade students, as well as school staff and parents, were entertaining as well as educational. The excited audience of parents and friends chanted and cheered as the children took the stage and gave them rodsuing applause as they exited.

The acts, which were created by the individual pupils involved, included a fashion show, a comedy segment, dancing and lots of singing.

All the performers were filled with glee and pride as they celebrated the heritage of black history.
